I believe it our God given right to get drunk in the land of the free. I would have bought them weed if they asked just to see old folks getting off. Good entertainment.

Buying Alcohol for Senior Citizens
by OUTLAW ingood morning jwd!
!..it`s time for one of my "what happened when i went down to civilization" story`s........the ride down to civilization was just beautifull....the warm morning desert air was fresh,with a hint of pine tree.no,not the one that hangs from the rear view mirror.i mean real desert pines..lol!
!..cowboys in complete costume including "chaps".were riding horseback,checking for broken fence by the roadside of their ranchs..huge stacks of hay spotted the fields.some stacks were bigger than barns..believe it or not,fresh cut hay smells very nice in the summer air.....after that,vineyards,orchards,and wineries..and..a never ending supply of small towns and roadside stands selling produce native to their area..the ride down there,is a vacation in itself..............the next day i bought supplies to bring back into the mountains..and..go for lunch with an old buddy of mine.....theres a nice pub we go to..the food is goodthe beer is coldand they have a keno board!..lol!

Thanks, this is a good site that I just recently noticed. Hope to post some articles here, mainly venting my own frustrations, it's my way of dealing with being a in-active Witness. I find it helps since I can't talk to any Witness former friends about these issues.

You can be Disfellowshiped for being too FAT!!!!!
by Witness 007 inwatch 74 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah god...is food a big thing in his life?
if in the presents of others, does he selfishly ignore thier needs and take far more then his share?
is he grossly overweight but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself?

We had a hugely obese sister in the Cong. who kept falling over. Some sisters kindly inquired about her "gluttony." The Elders honestly didn't know what to do, they told everyone she had a medical condition. Can you imagine if they pushed it further...many Cong. members would begin a mass panic and go to Jenny Craig. Watchtower madness, let me out!

"Playing Chess is evil, not for Witnesses" -Awake 1973
by Witness 007 inawake 73 3/22 p.12 "....the spirit of competition between players can lead to unpleasant circumstances, as the new york times reported: most families manage to keep the conflicts that arise in games to the chess board.
but in some homes tensions linger long past checkmate.
chess has been a game of war since it was originated 1,400 years ago....the games connections with war are obvious...a play-substitute for the art of war.

Watch 74 p.167 "By disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for Jehovah God...Is food a big thing in his life? If in the presents of others, does he selfishly ignore thier needs and take far more then his share? Is he grossly overweight but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself? Does he feel un-comfortable, perhaps even getting sick because of eating too much? ...one who persists in making a glutton of himself has no place in the Congregation of God's people...those who practice such things will not inherit God's Kingdom."
Watch 78 12/15 p.9 "At a meal, the gluttonous person may make it impossible for other diners to eat to satisfaction. For this reason, the glutton may eventually be despised. By yielding to selfish cravings, he actually isolates himself from others. Because of his greedy ways they may shun him...Unless the individual corrects his course, he may incur God's displeasure and lose his life...in the near future, God through Jesus Christ and his kingdom, will bring law-defying gluttons to an end...Then persons who... have not had companionship with gluttons will hunger no more."
{This writer at Bethel has been sitting in the dining room next to a hungry fat bethelite for many years no doubt}

Did the time come when it became unbearable to walk in the Kingdom Hall?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini didn't attend any meetings in the month of august.
i worked too many hours and i just don't care any longer.
just the thought of driving 45 minutes,greeting brothers and sisters who don't really care about each other,singing the dreadful songs,listening to the boring talk(which are repeats of a repeat),going over the slanted watchtower study and then driving another 45 minutes home.. how did you feel when you knew that it was becoming unbearable to attend another meeting?.

I just stopped going all together in the last 6 months. I just cant stand going back! I missed my first Convention this year. Watched movies in my pyjamas instead. And felt "spiritually" liberated about it. Brothers came over to "help" me out in service. I took their phone number to arrange a Witnessing day, Me - "Yeah I'll call you soon, sounds good bye, bye." {Scrunch, scrunch, Bin}
I'm amazed how fun Sundays can be! No wonder worldly people live for weekends. Spending time at the beach, in a park with my dog brings me closer to Jehovah spiritually. And I don't have to wear a tie.

Organ Donation
by Amyfa incan a jw be an organ donor?
i have read they can't give blood but can they carry a donor card?
-
Witness 007
Organ Transplants were banned by The Watchtower in the 1960's saying that "Organ Transplants are cannibalism..." Many Witnesses died rather than recieve a transplant. Then in 1980 the Watchtower reversed this decision saying; "Some may view organ transplants as cannibalism....it is a conscience matter to be decided by the individual..." Since then many Witnesses have been saved by having the operation. {I know a sister with a new liver} This doctrine today is a dead topic, most Witnesses dont realize like blood it was once a disfellowshiping offence to get a transplant. The publications were full of negative comments {1960-1970's} about how transplants dont work and are bad for you. {Cause Physcotic breakdown, absorb personality of donor, wierd!} One article I remember from the 69 Awake claimed some transplant doctors were under the influence of demons!

Brother and Sister Russell had the best marriage
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land inin 1893 there was quite a little row going on at the tower house, and russell wrote, in 1894, a pamphlet called "a conspiracy exposed" that went into great detail of the persons, grievances, and "bombs" (as he put it) that people tried to drop on him.
this pamphlet was distributed, not to all of the friends and subscribers, but only to those that had been around russell for some time.
in his words: "this painful story we have published separate from our regular issues, that if possible only the elder, and it is to be hoped steadfast, readers of the watch tower may know of it, lest others -- "babes" -- might be 'stumbled.'".
